Oreo it is

So we decided that he is a keeper. We love our little oreo. He is lots of fun.

He is always there waiting for a snuggle.

Friday night skate night

We thought that the skate ramp was done for the year, but the weather has been so nice we enjoyed it over Thanksgiving weekend.

I love to see the kids try it out.

They will be pros before we know it!

Gaming, crafting, coloring and more

Totally hypnotized by the Wii
When it wasn't your turn to play the wii you got a turn with the D.S.

We made Christmas decorations.

Coloring is always a good way to spend the day.

How cozy

When Jesse's grandparents wanted to make more room in their house they needed to get rid of the piano. We offered to help them out by taking it. I just love having a piano in our home it feels so cozy. I have always wanted to learn how to play too. So I found an online course to teach myself. I started to read it and was lost from the begining. Luckly Jesse took lessons when he was younger. He sat down and gave me a crash course. I love that he will take the time to teach me. Here he is playing chopsticks, which is one of my lessons for the first week. I am excited.

Twilight!!!!

Girls weekend out!!!! We went to Salt Lake to see Twilight,no kids, no husbands just us girls. The movie was fabulous and the hotel was perfect. Saturday morning we went to the Salt Lake Temple together. It was such a great experience. We spent the rest of Saturday shopping!!! We had so much Fun. We know that none of it would have been possible without our wonderful husbands--thanks guys.

A day with grandma

Jesse's grandparents are getting new flooring and grandma wanted to paint before the floors went in. Cameron and I went over to help. We painted the ceiling and the walls. I asked Cameron to get a picture of us, so he grabed the camera and took the picture. Then he disappeared. I didn't know where he went but this was the next picture on my camera.....

Self Portrait. I love this kid.

I know, I know

I can't stop taking so many pictures of the beauty all around.

I think it is because it reminds me of just how blessed I really am.

Raingutter Regatta

The raingutter regatta is like the pinewood derby except on water. The cub scouts got their boats a month before the race but like always I am last-minute-larry and we started the day of the race.
So we read through the instructions that came with the kit and of course I couldn't figure them out. Like always if I can't figure it out I check online, and there is actually a lot of info about raingutter regattas online. So we downloaded it.

The first instructions that we read on the downloaded material started something like this---21 days before the race do.... then they went on to say 18 days before the race do.... At this point I started to sweat bullet and felt like we were up a creek without a paddle so to speak. So I said to Cameron"Well we better get started and you had better go find a knife so that we can whittle this down and get to work". He said "But mom the other instructions said NOT to use a knife!" So I handed him the sanding block and wished him luck.

His boat turned out great 9 hours later. It really was a fun day spending time on something other than homework.

Now when I heard about this Raingutter Regatta the first thought that I had was "This would be better done in the summer". When we got to the gym my thoughts were confirmed. It was very messy and all the moms just sat and stared as we wondered who on earth was going to clean up the mess when it was over. Luckily there were some really nice dads that pitched in.

The idea of the race is this, place the boat in the raingutter and then provide the wind. There were several different races. This one was-- have a parent help you-- race. I am so glad I have a scout.

This is Cameron racing with his bestest best buddy!!

We love visits

We are always glad to see cousins. Katie and Cory came and brought Lainey and Jaren for a visit a few weeks ago. It was fun to cruise around Vernal and check things out.

There isn't a lot of things to do in Vernal so we were glad we had a craft. The best thing about having family visit is just talking about life and.......

ROCKBAND!!!

We've been adopted!!!

We have not had a pet for about 4 months now and we have missed our cats. Perry and Sam were with us for 15+ years. We are not ready for another inside pet so we were very happy to find that we had been adopted by this cute furball that comes from the field or our yard if you will. I can't tell if it is a girl or a boy (hope I find out before there are more on the way) but we don't care either way. We are having a hard time deciding on a name for the fluffy thing though and would be willing to hear any suggestions. Some of the names so far are BW and Ginger a suggestion made by my nephew Jaren. I love the name Ginger but the cat is not ginger color, does that matter?

Never ending projects

Having a home is such a blessing. What I forgot is that the work on your home never ends. We are so grateful for the warm fall weather that we have been having. We know that it won't last long so we take advantage of every moment of it. Here is Jesse working on the deck in our back yard. It will not be finished this year but hopefully by next summer. Yes that is the half-pipe in the back ground and we are sad to see that winter is coming because it will put a damper on Friday night skate night.

I knew this day was coming

A few days ago Jesse and I were in the kitchen talking and enjoying the day. When we heard a loud crash. I said to Jesse " I just can't stand to go and see what it is". As I said that Cameron came running down the stairs and said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry". Jesse did go and check out the sight by himself and then came and told me that there was a broken window. I was surprised that it was such a "big" thing (a window being broken is a big thing to me) and I didn't even hear voices being raised. So I asked Jesse how the window was broken (pretty obvious by the soccer ball in the picture). He said that wasn't important but that Cameron had felt bad and he was going to replace the window. I am thankful for a loving patient husband, who will step in when I think I can't go on. So in honor of being a mom to a really great kid I have posted a few reasons I love
being his mom.

I love being a mother to a boy...

Because he tries so hard to stay clean when he is doing a craft.

And........

He loves to be Harry Potter every year for Halloween.
How easy is that?

And........

There are always legos all over the place.

Last but not least

I love being the mother to a boy mostly because he has such a wonderful dad as and example. Cameron knows that even when he breaks a window that he can tell his dad and he will still be loved.

Home

I am so taken by the sky lately. This is in the evening just as the sun was setting. I love living in the country!
